Our very own Scott Heilman (also known as TwOgre) made it in as the final caller last weekend on Cigar Dave's weekly radio show, "Smoke This!". Topic of discussion for the call was "cigars to smoke while on the beach drinking Coronas". . .To our suprise every one of Cigar Dave's recommendations were of something at least one of us had already enjoyed that day. . .

Podcasts now in MP3 format

Yes, we must be popular, because we've gotten our first complaint!

Not really a complaint . . . more like a public service.

Instead of using Apple's AAC format, we'll be uploading the podcasts in MP3 format. The files are a bit smaller, to boot.

Great Sampler from Thompsoncigar.com

I got this fantastic sampler pack from Thompsoncigar.com. It is called the Powerhouse Dozen under National Brands Assortment Samplers. Also, you can reach it through our click through on our site

It comes with 12 premium cigars and an aluminum carrying case. The special includes all this for just over 30 dollars.

At first I was doubtful of the quality of cigars which would show up at my door. However, I definitely smiled when I opened my case. Not only did it contain a Rocky Patel vintage 1992, but a Hoyo de Monterrey and a Gurkha.

I defiantly suggest this for anyone. The case alone makes the deal worth the price.

I got a great deal on a four stick Sancho Panza sampler from JR Cigars. It's basic, and comes in a no-frills wooden (I'm not even sure it's cedar) box with the selections stamped on top.

First Podcast Available

OK, so it's just a bunch of guys chewin' the rag at a bar, but it's fine entertainment!

Our first podcast was recorded on January 24th, 2007 at the Shandygaff Saloon in downtown State College. We had a few sticks, nothing special, and pretty much just talked about whatever topic came up. Come and hang around the Nittany Cigar Club . . . it's different.

Camacho Cigars created a stir a few years back with bold, distinctive cigars.

Corojo seed was transplanted form Cuba after Castro nationalized the cigar industry. Due to differences in soil, climate, etc. Cuban seed does not taste the same when it's moved to another country, just like Vidalia Onions taste different when planted in Florida. By carefully cultivating and toying around with the seed, region and other factors, the Camacho family has come up with a bold Corojo with a distinct, powerful appeal.
